What is punked?

"Punk'd" is a hidden camera reality television show that was first broadcast on MTV in the United States. The show was created by Ashton Kutcher and Jason Goldberg and premiered on March 17, 2003. Its premise involves celebrity guests being pranked by Kutcher or guest celebrity hosts, who work with a team of pranksters to set up elaborate scenarios to convince the target of the prank that something has gone wrong. Famous pranks on the show include Justin Timberlake crying over the repossession of his home, Beyoncé thinking she ruined a Christmas concert, and Hilary Duff being trapped in a limo on a runaway airport runway. The show has a history of successfully fooling many of Hollywood's biggest stars. "Punk'd" was a popular show and ran for eight seasons on MTV before being resurrected in 2020 on the streaming service Quibi.
