What is purlicue?

Purlicue is a term that refers to a specific part of the human hand. It is also known as the "kill spot" or "monkey's paw" and is located between the thumb and forefinger on the palm side of the hand. When a person makes a fist, the purlicue becomes more prominent and can be used to deliver a powerful punch. The term purlicue has a French origin and comes from the phrase "le pour la queue" which translates to "for the tail" or "the handle" because it was originally used as a handle for knives. Today, the term is mostly used in martial arts and self-defense circles to refer to the most effective spot to strike an opponent.
