What is qingxiusaurus?

Qingxiusaurus is a genus of herbivorous dinosaur that lived during the late Jurassic period, around 161-145 million years ago. It was a member of the sauropod family, characterized by long necks and tails, small heads, and massive bodies. Qingxiusaurus was estimated to be about 15 meters (50 feet) long and weighed around 10-15 tons. Its fossils were first discovered in southern China's Guangxi Province in 1992. It is named after the city of Qingxiu, where its fossils were found. The study of these fossils revealed much information about the nature of sauropods and their evolution. Despite its massive size, qingxiusaurus was likely a peaceful, herbivorous animal that lived in herds, similar to other sauropods.
