Raphael Glucksmann is a French journalist, author, and politician. He was born on October 15, 1979, in Boulogne-Billancourt, France, and is the son of philosopher André Glucksmann. After completing his studies in political science and philosophy, Glucksmann began his career as a journalist, contributing to various publications such as Le Monde and Marianne.
In 2010, he published a book entitled "Le Monde comme il est" (The World as It Is), a collection of articles he had written over the years. He also worked as a producer for the documentary film "Himalaya, le chemin du ciel" (Himalaya, the Path of Heaven) in 2011.
In 2019, Glucksmann entered politics and formed the list "Envie d'Europe" (Desire for Europe) for the European Parliament elections. His list was a coalition of center-left parties and was supported by several high-profile personalities, including Nicolas Hulot and actress Juliette Binoche. The list received 6.19% of the vote and Glucksmann was elected to the European Parliament.
Glucksmann is a supporter of the European Union and has been vocal in his criticism of far-right parties and populist movements in Europe. He has also been a strong advocate for human rights and has called for increased action to address the refugee crisis in Europe.
