Richard D. Fain, born on May 20, 1948, is an American businessman who has served as the chairman and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group, a global cruise vacation company, since 1988. He has been instrumental in expanding and transforming Royal Caribbean Group into one of the biggest travel and leisure companies in the world. Fain holds a degree in economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Throughout his career, Fain has been recognized for his leadership and contributions to the travel industry. He has been inducted into the Cruise Industry Hall of Fame, named one of the Most Powerful People in Travel by Travel Weekly, and recognized as an Outstanding CEO by Institutional Investor. As the head of Royal Caribbean Group, he has also been recognized for the company's commitment to sustainability, employee engagement, and corporate social responsibility.
