What is rolb?

ROLB stands for Right Outside Linebacker and is a position in American and Canadian football. The ROLB is primarily responsible for rushing the quarterback, stopping the run, and covering tight ends and running backs in pass coverage.

This position requires a unique combination of speed, agility, strength, and football IQ. ROLBs must be able to react quickly to plays, read the offense, and make tackles in open space.

In a 3-4 defense, the ROLB lines up on the right side of the defensive formation, usually opposite the tight end. They are typically a key pass rusher and playmaker on the defense.

Some of the most well-known ROLBs in NFL history include Lawrence Taylor, Derrick Thomas, and Von Miller.
