Saidi is a traditional dance style from the Said region of Egypt. It is performed in communal celebrations and has its roots in rural Bedouin culture. The dance incorporates vigorous movements with a stick, and is typically performed by male dancers. The music is characterized by the use of the tabla (drum), mizmar (reed instrument), and sometimes a tambourine. The Saidi dance is popular in both solo and group performances, and continues to be a popular aspect of Egyptian culture.
