Saltopus is a genus of small, early dinosaur that lived during the Late Triassic period, approximately 210 million years ago. It is one of the earliest known dinosaurs, with fossil remains first discovered in Scotland in 1910.
Saltopus was a small bipedal dinosaur, measuring around 1 meter (3.3 feet) in length. It had long hind legs, a slender body, and a long neck with a small head. Its diet likely consisted of small insects, plants, and other small animals.
Not much is known about Saltopus due to the limited fossil evidence available, but it is considered an important early dinosaur for understanding the evolution and diversity of these ancient reptiles.
