What is semordnilap?

Semordnilap or palindromes are words or phrases that read the same forwards and backward when spelled in reverse. Some examples of semordnilaps are "desserts" and "stressed," "drawer" and "reward," and "evil" and "live." Semordnilaps can be found in literature, jokes, and even in medical terms. They are often used for wordplay and can add a fun and creative element to writing. However, not all words can be spelled backward and still make a meaningful word or phrase.
