What is seta?

SETA stands for Sector Education and Training Authority, which is an organization in South Africa that is responsible for skills development and training within specific sectors of the economy. There are 21 SETAs in South Africa, each representing a different industry, such as agriculture, finance, and tourism. The main objective of SETAs is to facilitate the development of education and training initiatives that meet the needs of employers and employees within their respective sectors. They also help to develop qualifications frameworks and oversee the processes of accreditation and certification of training providers and assessors. SETAs are funded through levies from employers in their respective sectors, and they are accountable to the Department of Higher Education and Training.
