What is sharkoil?

Shark oil, also known as squalene, is a naturally occurring oil found in the liver of sharks. It is a colorless and odorless oil that is commonly used in skincare and cosmetic products because of its moisturizing and nourishing properties.

Shark oil is rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and amino acids that are beneficial for the skin. It helps to hydrate and provide a protective barrier for the skin, preventing moisture loss and improving overall texture and appearance. It is also believed to have anti-inflammatory properties that can reduce redness and irritation.

Despite its benefits for the skin, the use of shark oil has been controversial due to unsustainable fishing practices that endanger shark populations. As a result, alternative sources of squalene, such as olives and amaranth oil, have become more widely used in skincare and cosmetics.
