What is shlok?

Shlok is a Sanskrit word that means "verse" or "hymn". In Hinduism, shlokas are considered sacred and are recited during prayer or rituals. They are composed in poetic form and often contain spiritual or philosophical teachings. Shlokas are a vital part of the Vedas, Puranas, and other ancient scriptures, and are also recited to attain spiritual harmony and peace of mind. Reciting shlokas is believed to be both meditative and therapeutic. Many individuals who practice yoga also recite shlokas during their practice for the same reason.
