What is shocked?

"Shock" is a medical emergency condition that occurs when there is insufficient blood flow to vital organs, like the heart, lungs, and brain, due to a decrease in blood pressure. Some common causes of shock include severe infections, severe allergic reactions, major blood loss, burns, and serious injuries. Shock can also happen as a result of underlying medical conditions like heart failure or diabetes. Symptoms of shock may include pale skin, rapid breathing, rapid heartbeat, confusion, dizziness, and fainting. Prompt medical attention is vital to treat shock, and treatment may involve intravenous fluids, medications, oxygen therapy, and other medical interventions depending on the cause and severity of the condition.
