What is sibilas?

Sibilas (also known as Sybils) are female prophets or oracles from ancient Greek and Roman mythology. They were believed to have the power of prophecy, often foretelling future events and providing guidance to people seeking answers and advice.

According to legend, there were many sibilas throughout history, each with their own unique abilities and prophecies. The most famous of these was the sibyl of Cumae, who was said to have lived in a cave near Naples and provided guidance to Aeneas during his journey to found Rome.

Sibilas were often associated with the worship of the god Apollo, and were believed to gain their powers from him. They were also often associated with the underworld, and some sibilas were believed to be able to communicate with the dead.

In modern times, the term sibyl is sometimes used more broadly to refer to any woman with prophetic or mystical abilities.
