What is sks2?

SKS2 is a type of high-speed tool steel that belongs to the family of steel grades known as "shock-resistant" or "shock-resisting" tool steels. They are called so because they are designed to resist shock and impact loads. SKS2 has a high carbon content, which provides for high hardness and wear resistance. It also contains molybdenum for improved strength and toughness. This steel grade is commonly used in the manufacture of cutting tools such as drill bits, saw blades, and milling cutters, among others. It has good machinability and can be heat-treated to improve its hardness and wear resistance. SKS2 exhibits good dimensional stability, excellent toughness, and resistance to deformation under high temperatures.
