What is smee?

Smee is a fictional character from the story of Peter Pan. He is the loyal and trustworthy first mate of Captain Hook, and helps him in his efforts to capture Peter Pan and his companions. Smee is often portrayed as being somewhat cowardly and bumbling, but ultimately devoted to his captain and their shared quest for revenge against Peter Pan. He is often depicted as being round, jolly, and wearing a striped shirt and a captain's hat. Despite his affiliation with the notoriously villainous Captain Hook, Smee is generally regarded as being a sympathetic character in the story.
