What is sojouk?

Sujuk (also spelled sucuk or sojouk) is a type of spicy sausage that is common in many countries in the Middle East, Balkans, and Central Asia. It is made from ground meat (usually beef or lamb) mixed with various spices such as cumin, garlic, paprika, and red pepper flakes. The mixture is then stuffed into casings and dried or smoked.

Sujuk can be eaten on its own as a snack or as a part of a meal. It can be cooked in various ways, such as grilling, frying, or sautéing. It is often used as an ingredient in dishes such as soups, stews, and salads.

Sujuk is a popular food during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, and is often served for breakfast or as an appetizer during feasts and celebrations. It is also commonly eaten in sandwiches or as a topping on pizza.

Due to its spicy flavor, sujuk is not suitable for everyone's taste. However, it is a rich source of protein and iron, making it a healthy choice for those who enjoy it.
