Solikamsk is a town located in the Perm Krai region of Russia. It sits on the eastern side of the Ural Mountains, about 1,000 miles east of Moscow.
The town has a population of approximately 90,000 people and is known for its salt mines. The Solikamsk-2 mine is one of the largest potassium salt mines in the world.
Solikamsk is also home to several cultural institutions, such as the Solikamsk State Historical and Architectural Museum-Preserve, which features displays on the town's history and architecture.
Due to its location near the Ural Mountains, Solikamsk experiences a harsh continental climate with cold winters and short, warm summers. However, it has become a popular tourist destination for those interested in skiing and other winter sports.
