Soyuz is a Russian spacecraft that first flew in 1966 and continues to be used for space missions to this day. It is one of the most reliable and well-known spacecraft in the world, with more than 1,500 launches to date. Soyuz has been used for a range of missions, including carrying cosmonauts and astronauts to the International Space Station, delivering supplies, conducting scientific research, and even launching satellite payloads into orbit around Earth. It is a modular spacecraft that can be adapted for different missions, with a crew module that can hold up to three people, service module for propulsion and power, and a separate cargo compartment. Soyuz also has a unique launch system, where it is initially launched vertically by four strap-on boosters and then continues to orbit on its own engines.
