What is stonewash?

Stonewashing is a textile manufacturing process used to give a worn and faded appearance to fabrics, especially denim. The process involves washing the fabric using abrasive stones such as pumice stones, to achieve a faded and worn-out look. Stones are added to the washing machine and tumbled with the fabric, creating a distressed look. The longer the washing process, the more faded and worn the fabric will appear. Stonewashed denim gained popularity in the 1980s and is still a popular trend in fashion today.
