What is stopkiss?

"Stop Kiss" is a play written by Diana Son. The play explores the relationship between two women, Sara and Callie, who become romantically involved after meeting in New York City. However, their first kiss is interrupted by a violent attack, leaving Sara in a coma. The play follows their story as well as the aftermath of the attack. "Stop Kiss" addresses themes of love, sexuality, violence, and the impact of hate crimes on LGBTQ+ individuals. It premiered in a staged reading in 1997 and had its off-Broadway premiere in 1998.
