What is stragglers?

Stragglers refer to individuals or groups that lag behind, fall behind the main group, or trail behind the expected pace or progress. In various contexts, stragglers may refer to slow-moving animals, slow-picking crops, lost or left-behind people in a group, non-conforming individuals in a team, late-delivery packages, or underperforming projects. Stragglers may face diverse challenges such as physical or mental limitations, lack of motivation, lack of resources, lack of direction, fear of failure or success, or other external factors that hinder their progress. Efforts such as coaching, mentoring, reassigning tasks, providing feedback, incentives, or guidance may help to motivate and support stragglers to achieve their goals. However, sometimes stragglers may need to be removed from a group or process if their presence undermines the overall success of the group or process.
