What is suhagan?

Suhagan is a Hindi term used to describe a married woman who is still dependent on her husband. It is believed that a suhagan is a symbol of good luck and prosperity, and therefore, married women strive to maintain their suhagan status. In Indian culture, there are various rituals and traditions associated with suhagan, such as wearing sindoor (vermilion powder) in the hair parting, wearing a mangalsutra (sacred necklace), and performing puja (worship) to ensure the longevity and well-being of their husband. Additionally, suhagan is also considered as a sign of fertility and motherhood.
