What is t22?

T22 is a Type 22 frigate of the Royal Navy of the United Kingdom. She was commissioned in 1989 and served until 2011. T22 frigates were designed as anti-submarine warfare vessels, equipped with a range of sensors and weapons systems to detect and engage enemy submarines.

T22 frigates were armed with Harpoon anti-ship missiles, Sea Wolf surface-to-air missiles, and Stingray torpedoes. They also had a 4.5-inch gun for surface targets and a Lynx helicopter for anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare.

T22 frigates were known for their versatility and were used in a variety of roles, including escort duties, maritime security operations, and anti-piracy missions. The Royal Navy retired its remaining Type 22 frigates in the early 2010s as part of a modernization program.
