Tequixquiac is a municipality located in the northeastern part of the State of Mexico, in central Mexico. It is situated about 50 km north of Mexico City and covers an area of approximately 104.23 square kilometers. The town's name comes from the Nahuatl word "tequixquitl," which means "land of hard ground."
