What is tetsubo?

Tetsubo is a Japanese word that refers to a type of weapon used in traditional Japanese warfare. Typically, it is a heavy club or mace made of wood, iron, or both, sometimes with spikes or sharp edges. The tetsubo was primarily used by samurai and other warriors to crush their enemies' armor, bones, or skulls, as opposed to cutting or slicing through them.

The tetsubo was considered a deadly weapon due to its weight and power, and it was often used as a last resort when other weapons had failed. It was also used in duels between samurai and in battles against heavily armored opponents.

Today, the tetsubo is still used in martial arts and reenactments of historical battles. However, it is mostly considered a symbol of Japanese culture and history, rather than a practical weapon in modern times.
