What is toller?

The Toller, also known as the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, is a medium-sized breed of dog that originated in Canada. They were originally bred to lure and retrieve waterfowl by "tolling" or luring them closer to shore by playing in the water. Tollers are known for their high energy levels, intelligence, and affectionate personalities. They have a thick, waterproof coat that can range in color from red to orange and typically require moderate grooming. Tollers are highly trainable and excel in various activities such as agility, obedience, and hunting. They are also excellent family pets, as they are friendly and eager to please. However, Tollers may not be the best choice for first-time dog owners due to their high energy and exercise requirements. They typically require daily exercise and mental stimulation to prevent destructive behaviors.
