TYT (Temel Yeterlilik Testi)

TYT is the first stage of the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) in Turkey. It is administered by ÖSYM (the Assessment, Selection and Placement Center). This exam is crucial for students aiming to pursue higher education in Turkish universities.

The TYT exam assesses a candidate's basic proficiency in core subjects, covering areas essential for success in various undergraduate programs.

Key Subjects & Components:

  • Turkish: Measures reading comprehension, vocabulary, and grammar skills.
  • Mathematics: Tests fundamental math concepts and problem-solving abilities.
  • Social%20Sciences: Includes questions on History, Geography, Philosophy, and Religious Culture & Moral Knowledge.
  • Science: Covers basic concepts from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

TYT scores are used for admission to associate degree programs and also contribute to the overall YKS score, which determines placement in four-year undergraduate programs. Candidates must achieve a minimum score on the TYT to be eligible to take the AYT (Alan Yeterlilik Testleri), the second stage of the YKS, and to have their AYT scores considered for university placement.
