What is v-ring?

A v-ring is a type of seal used to prevent the leakage of fluids from machinery, particularly in rotary applications such as turbines, pumps, and compressors. It is a rubber or plastic ring with a v-shaped cross-section, designed to fit snugly into a groove in the housing or shaft of the machinery. The v-shape of the ring allows it to flex and adapt to changes in the shape of the groove, providing a reliable seal even under high-pressure conditions. V-rings can be used on their own or in combination with other sealing components to create a complete sealing system. They are commonly made from materials such as nitrile rubber, fluoroelastomers, or polyurethane, and come in a range of sizes and shapes to fit different applications.
