What is valuefree?

Value-free, also known as value neutrality, is an approach or methodology in social science research that aims to eliminate personal biases, values, and opinions of the researcher from the study. It focuses on an objective and impartial approach to gather data and evaluate evidence in an empirical and scientific manner. The value-free approach stresses the importance of gathering data through proper research methods and statistical analysis to arrive at a factual conclusion. It also aims to eliminate judgment and personal biases that may influence the interpretation of the findings. However, value-free research has been criticized for being impossible to achieve because researchers are affected by personal biases and values, consciously or unconsciously. Thus, some researchers opt to acknowledge their biases and work towards minimizing its impact on their research.
