Vesuvianite, also known as idocrase, is a calcium aluminum silicate mineral with the chemical formula Ca10Al2(Al2Si2O7)5(SiO4)3(OH)4. It is typically found in metamorphic rocks, such as skarns and marble, as well as in some igneous rocks such as lavas and tuffs.
