What is victrola?

Victrola is a brand of phonograph that was originally created by the Victor Talking Machine Company in the early 1900s. The term "Victrola" became synonymous with phonographs, much like "Kleenex" became synonymous with tissues. The Victrola became popular in the 1920s and 1930s as a way to listen to popular music and radio shows. The Victrola was known for its excellent sound quality, which was achieved through the use of a large horn and a turntable that could play both 78 RPM and 45 RPM records. Today, Victrola is still a popular brand for vintage-style record players, with models that are both classic-looking and modern, combining old-school style with modern technology.
