The Visigoths were a Germanic people who were one of the main barbarian groups that played a significant role in the fall of the Western Roman Empire. They originated from modern-day Sweden, and migrated southwards into the Roman Empire in the 4th and 5th centuries AD. The Visigoths were a warrior society, famous for their bravery and fighting skills. They were initially welcomed into the Roman Empire as allies but later turned against it and sacked Rome in 410 AD. After the fall of the Roman Empire, the Visigoths established their own kingdom in Iberia, where they ruled until they were defeated by the Moors in the 8th century. The Visigoths had a significant impact on European history, and their legacy can still be seen today in Spain and other parts of Europe.
