Pieter Snayers was a Flemish painter known for his depictions of battle scenes. He was born in Antwerp on January 23, 1592. Snayers worked primarily in Brussels, where he was the court painter of Archduchess Isabella Clara Eugenia and Archduke Albert. He also served as a painter for the Spanish army. Snayers was highly respected for his ability to accurately depict battle scenes, and he often collaborated with other artists to create large-scale panoramas. He died in Brussels on August 19, 1666.
