What is vt-28?

VT-28 stands for Training Squadron 28 and is a flight training squadron of the United States Navy Reserve based at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi in Texas. The squadron operates the T-6B Texan II aircraft and provides primary flight training to student Naval Aviators, including both commissioned officers and enlisted personnel. VT-28's mission is to develop professional, ethical, and effective Naval Aviators who are prepared to join the Fleet and conduct combat operations. The squadron was established in 1960 and has been training Navy pilots for over 60 years.
