What is wrestle-1?

Wrestle-1 is a professional wrestling promotion in Japan that was founded on July 17, 2013, by Keiji Mutoh, also known as The Great Muta. The promotion was created after Mutoh left All Japan Pro Wrestling following a dispute with the company's management.

Wrestle-1 has had a variety of wrestlers compete in its rings, both from Japan and abroad. Some of its notable wrestlers include Kaz Hayashi, Minoru Tanaka, Jiro Kuroshio, and Seigo Tachibana. The promotion also frequently features guest wrestlers from other promotions, such as Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide and Impact Wrestling.

Wrestle-1 holds several events throughout the year, including its annual Wrestle-1 Grand Prix tournament, which features wrestlers from around the world competing for the Wrestle-1 Championship. The promotion has also partnered with other wrestling promotions for joint events, including one with Pro Wrestling NOAH in 2016.

In 2018, Keiji Mutoh announced that he would be stepping down as the head booker of Wrestle-1 and would focus on his in-ring performances. The promotion continues to operate under new leadership.
