What is xqd?

XQD is a type of memory card format that was developed by the CompactFlash Association (CFA) as a replacement for CompactFlash (CF) cards. It was introduced in 2010 and was designed to cater for the increasing demand for high-speed data transfer rates in professional digital cameras and video cameras.

The XQD card has a maximum theoretical speed of up to 4Gbps, making it one of the fastest storage devices available. It uses the PCIe interface for high-speed data transfer and has a robust design that can withstand extreme temperatures, shock, and vibration.

The XQD card has a storage capacity ranging from 32GB to 240GB, and it supports features like wear leveling, power interruption recovery, and data encryption.

XQD cards are commonly used by professional photographers and videographers due to their fast write speeds, which allow them to capture high-quality photos and videos without having to wait for the camera to catch up.

However, XQD cards are not as widely available as other memory card formats like SD and CF, and they are more expensive. As a result, they are not commonly used by casual users or hobbyists.
