What is yantr?

A yantra is a geometric design or diagram used as a meditative aid in Hindu and Buddhist tantric traditions. Yantras are typically made of metal, paper, or painted on a cloth or wall. They are believed to represent different deities, cosmological principles, or aspects of the human psyche, and are used as a tool to focus the mind and help the practitioner achieve a particular goal or state of consciousness. Yantras are often used in conjunction with mantras (sacred chants) and other practices, and can be found in various sizes and shapes, including squares, triangles, circles, and mandalas. Some of the most popular yantras include the Sri Yantra, the Kali Yantra, and the Ganesh Yantra.
