What is yingxing?

Yingxing, also known as Song Yingxing, was a Chinese scientist and encyclopedist who lived during the Ming Dynasty. He is best known for his work Tiangong Kaiwu, which is considered one of the greatest technological achievements of its time.

Tiangong Kaiwu, meaning "The Exploitation of the Works of Nature," is an encyclopedic work that covers a wide range of topics including agriculture, industry, metallurgy, mining, ceramics, textiles, engineering, architecture, and military technology. It also contains detailed illustrations and diagrams to accompany the text.
