What is zome?

Zome is a building toy system that allows users to create a variety of structures and shapes using plastic balls and struts of different lengths. It was invented by Steve Baer in the 1980s, inspired by the classic geodesic dome design.

Zome sets come in a variety of sizes and colors, and can be used to create everything from small geometric shapes and models to large-scale architectural structures. The system is often used in educational settings to teach concepts such as geometry, engineering, and mathematics.

In addition to standard Zome sets, there are also specialized kits available for creating specific types of structures, such as polyhedral models and tensegrity structures. Zome has been used in a variety of engineering and design projects, including bridge building and architectural design.
