What is areopolis?

Areopolis is a small town located in the Mani Peninsula, in the Peloponnese region of Greece. It is the capital and main town of the municipality of West Mani, with a population of approximately 1,200 people.

Areopolis is steeped in history, with numerous churches and religious monuments dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries. The town is also known for its traditional architecture, with many of the buildings made from local stone.
