What is bajura?

Bajura is a district in the Far-Western Region of Nepal. It is the smallest district of Nepal with an area of only 2,188.2 square kilometers. The district headquarters of Bajura is at Martadi. As of the 2011 census, the total population of the district was 108,781.

The main ethnic groups in Bajura are Khas, Thakuri, Brahmin, Chhetri, and Dalit. The majority of the people in Bajura are Hindu, with a minority of Buddhists and Christians.

Agriculture is the main occupation of the people in Bajura, with rice, wheat, maize, and millet being the main crops grown. Livestock rearing is also a significant part of the economy. Mineral resources such as limestone, mica, and copper are also found in the district.
