What is barosso?

José Manuel Barroso is a Portuguese politician who served as the 11th President of the European Commission from 2004 to 2014. He was also the Prime Minister of Portugal from 2002 to 2004, and served as leader of the Social Democratic Party from 1999 to 2002. During his tenure as President of the European Commission, Barroso saw the expansion of the European Union, the implementation of the Lisbon Treaty, and the handling of the global financial crisis. After leaving his role at the European Commission, he took up a position as non-executive chairman at Goldman Sachs International.
