What is biab?

BIAB (Brew In A Bag) is a method of all-grain brewing that involves mashing, lautering, and boiling all within a single kettle. This method is popular among homebrewers for its simplicity and efficiency.

In the BIAB process, the grains are added to a mesh bag inside the brew kettle, and hot water is added to create a mash. The bag is then lifted out of the kettle to function as a filter during lautering, allowing the wort to be separated from the grains. The bag is removed, and the wort is boiled with hops before cooling and fermenting.

BIAB is a great option for those who are limited on space or equipment, as it requires fewer vessels and less cleanup compared to traditional all-grain brewing methods. Additionally, BIAB can produce high-quality beer with minimal equipment and time investment.
