What is bockdalek?

Bockdalek hernia is a rare type of congenital diaphragmatic hernia that occurs when a hole or weakness in the diaphragm allows abdominal organs to move into the chest cavity. It typically presents in infants, and symptoms can include difficulty breathing, rapid breathing, and a bluish tint to the skin. Bockdalek hernia can be diagnosed with imaging tests such as X-rays or an ultrasound, and treatment usually involves surgery to repair the diaphragmatic defect and return the organs to their proper location. Prognosis depends on the severity of the hernia and any associated complications.
