What is bovine?

Bovine refers to animals that belong to the biological family Bovidae, which includes cattle, buffalo, bison, and yaks. Domestic cattle, known as Bos taurus, are one of the most important animals for human consumption and are raised for their meat, milk, and hides. There are many breeds of cattle, each with distinct characteristics in size, color, and temperament. Cattle are herbivores and graze on a variety of plants. They have four stomach compartments that enable them to efficiently extract nutrients from tough plant fibers. Cattle are social animals and form complex social hierarchies within their herds. They communicate with each other through a series of vocalizations, body language, and scents. In many cultures, cattle play an important role in religious and cultural practices, and their symbolic importance is reflected in art, literature, and mythology.
