What is brasavola?

Brasavola is a genus of orchids, named after the Italian botanist and physician Antonio Musa Brasavola. There are around 20 species of Brasavola orchids, which are native to various regions of Central and South America. These orchids are epiphytes, meaning that they grow on the branches of trees rather than in soil. They typically produce fragrant white or cream-colored flowers that bloom in the summertime. Brasavola orchids are popular among collectors and are grown for their beautiful and distinctive blooms.
