What is braze-ons?

Braze-ons are small metal fittings that are attached to a bicycle frame during the manufacturing process. They are used to mount accessories such as bottle cages, fenders, racks, and reflectors. Braze-ons are typically made of steel, aluminum or titanium and are welded onto the frame using a process called brazing. Braze-ons are an effective way to securely attach accessories to the bike frame and improve the overall functionality of the bicycle. The placement and number of braze-ons vary depending on the intended use of the bike, with touring and commuter bikes having more than road or racing bikes. Additionally, some high-end bikes have braze-ons for electronic shifting systems, suspension systems, and disc brakes.
