What is cheong?

Cheong is a traditional Korean fermented vegetable dish that is similar to kimchi. It is usually made with Chinese cabbage, radishes, carrots, and other vegetables that are seasoned with garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes before being fermented for a few days to develop flavor.

Cheong is typically served as a side dish or as an accompaniment to rice or soup. It is known for its spicy, tangy flavor and crunchy texture. Cheong is also believed to have health benefits due to its probiotic properties, which can help improve digestion and boost the immune system.

While kimchi is more popular and widely known outside of Korea, cheong is a regional variation that is enjoyed mainly in the southern part of the country. It is a versatile dish that can be customized with different vegetables and seasonings to suit individual preferences.
