What is cougarand?

Cougar, also known as mountain lion or puma, is a large wild cat native to the Americas. It is one of the most adaptable and wide-ranging animals in the Americas, found from the Canadian Yukon to the southern Andes of South America. Cougars have a tawny, reddish-brown fur and distinctive black-tipped ears and tail. They are solitary and territorial animals, with males having larger home ranges than females. Cougars are ambush predators and typically prey on deer, but will also hunt smaller animals like raccoons and rodents. They are known for their stealth and agility, able to jump up to 18 feet in a single bound and climb trees. Despite being apex predators, cougars face many threats from habitat loss, hunting, and vehicle collisions. They are not considered endangered, but their populations are declining in many regions.
